Ross Fishman
Client Relations
Ross Fishman is the CEO of Fishman Marketing, Inc., a business aimed at helping law and professional-services firms conduct effective marketing and strategic planning efforts. Known for his "educational and entertaining" presentation style, he has conducted more than 250 firm retreats and training programs world-wide.
Fishman was a commercial litigator from 1985-90 before moving to the firm of Winston & Strawn, to practice marketing full-time. He later became Marketing Partner of Ungaretti & Harris. Called "the creative mind behind a host of law firm campaigns that have redefined the field" (San Jose Business Journal), and "one of the country's leading experts on law firm marketing" (Lawyers Weekly USA), Fishman Marketing has launched campaigns for many of the nation's largest firms and global networks.
Fishman Marketing Inc. campaigns have received the 3,500-member LMA's grand prize, the optional Best of Show award five times, and one of Inc. magazine's ten Marketing Masters awards for "brilliant and successful" marketing campaigns. Recipient of a peer-selected LMA 1998 Lifetime Achievement Award, Fishman was selected for induction into the LMA's inaugural Hall of Fame. In 2007, a grateful client had the Governor commission Fishman as a Kentucky Colonel.
A Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management and Board Trustee, "Col. Fishman" has written over 200 bylined articles, and has sat on the editorial board of five national magazines.
Fishman has served as an expert source and as a keynote speaker for a variety of media, public, and private endeavors and events. An active LMA member since 1990, he was the 1998 Vice President, a member of both the Strategic Planning and Best Practice Task Forces, and chairman and moderator of seven consecutive QuickStart/Boot Camp programs.
A 1986 member of the federal Trial Bar (N.D. Ill), Fishman received a B.A. in Speech Communications, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, and his J.D. from Emory Law School.
